Selfie Cove Studio Terms & Conditions and Liability Waiver

Welcome to Selfie Cove! We’re excited to provide you with a unique and private creative space to bring your ideas to life. To ensure a smooth, safe, and respectful experience for everyone, we kindly ask that you read and agree to the following studio terms and waiver. These apply to all users, whether booking a public session or participating in a membership or package plan. Some provisions may vary depending on your booking type (i.e., Membership or Plan).

‍1. Booking, Session Time & Arrival

Your scheduled session time includes your setup, use of the space, creative work, breakdown, and cleanup. If your plan includes a buffer period (i.e., Membership or Plan), that will be automatically factored into your session. All bookings must be prepaid to confirm, and your session begins promptly at your scheduled time.

We kindly ask you to arrive early but wait to enter the studio until a few minutes before your appointment to ensure that the previous guests have exited. Since we are a small private space with limited capacity, we avoid overlaps to maintain a calm, uncrowded experience. A maximum of 6 people total is allowed per session, including children.

Additional time, when available, may be added at our standard hourly rate unless stated otherwise by your membership or plan. Booking details, rates, and terms may change as our studio grows. Always refer to the latest version at the time of your booking.

2. Rescheduling and Cancellation

We understand that things come up. You’re welcome to reschedule or cancel any session with at least 48 hours’ notice. Cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance are not eligible for a refund, unless otherwise noted in your booking agreement (i.e., Membership or Plan). No-shows are charged in full.

Emergencies will be reviewed with understanding on a case-by-case basis. Refunds apply only to the booking fee, not to any related or incidental expenses. Booking fee refers to the session rate paid at the time of reservation.

3. Guests, Headcount, and Additional Fees

Each session includes admission for up to 2 people. You may bring up to 4 additional guests at $25+tax per person, with a maximum of 6 people total in the studio. This includes children.

The $25 fee reflects the increased wear and tear that naturally comes with more people: added use of props, movement through studio zones, cleaning, and setup time between sessions. This helps us keep the space in top condition while ensuring every experience remains smooth and private.

‍4. Conduct & Safety Guidelines

This is a self-guided studio unless otherwise arranged. Please use the space respectfully:

  • No nudity, adult content, or inappropriate behavior. Selfie Cove is a family-friendly space.
  • No smoking, vaping, alcohol, or illegal substances. A $500 violation fee will apply.
  • No candles, open flames, or pyrotechnics of any kind.
  • All guests must be respectful of shared furniture and setups. No standing on furniture or leaning inappropriately on any surfaces, such as windows, doors, furniture, or backdrops.
  • Children must be supervised at all times.

If you unplug lighting or extension cords, please do so with care. Cords, lighting equipment, remotes, props, and furniture must be returned to their original condition. Improper handling may result in fees to repair or replace damaged items.

4A. Food, Beverage & Restroom Policy

To maintain cleanliness and hygiene for all guests:

  • No outside food is allowed in the studio unless you have prior written approval for a private workshop or event booking.
  • Bottled water is available upon request for your session.
  • Please do not dispose of anything other than toilet paper in the toilet. Use the provided trash can for all other items. Flushing inappropriate items may result in plumbing issues, and any damage caused will be billed accordingly.

4B. Pet Policy

Pets are not allowed in the studio unless approved in advance for a special pet photoshoot or private event. All pet sessions must be booked with written confirmation. Pet owners are responsible for controlling their animals at all times and must clean up after them. Any damage caused by pets will be the financial responsibility of the owner.

5. Damage, Cleaning and Fees

Please treat the space with respect and care. Any damage in the facility, including but not limited to props, furniture, equipment, or backdrops will result in repair or replacement costs.

  • Replacement Costs: Clients are responsible for up to 1.5x the retail cost of any damaged item. For example, a $100 chair may result in a $150 charge. If a replacement is needed, a receipt for the item (or a comparable equivalent) will be provided.
  • Soiled or Torn Backdrops: Fabric backdrops or furniture that are excessively stained or torn will first be assessed for cleaning. A flat cleaning fee of $300 will apply. If cleaning is unsuccessful, a replacement fee will be charged, and documentation of the replacement will be provided to the client.
  • Cleaning Fee: Sessions left in disarray will incur a non-negotiable cleaning fee of $250. This fee covers cleaning, including but not limited to general resetting, trash removal, and restoring the space to its ready state.
  • Shoes: Please bring a clean pair of shoes for use inside the creative zones. This helps maintain the quality and cleanliness of our backdrops and flooring.
  • Please do not bring glitter, confetti, powder, or similar materials that create excessive mess. These are not allowed unless pre-approved in writing. If your session includes cake smashes, paint, or food-based props, please take extra care with the backdrops and floors. Our paper rolls and surfaces are professional-grade and not inexpensive to replace — damaged or heavily soiled items may result in a replacement charge.

6. Equipment and Responsibility

If you choose to bring your own lighting, camera gear, or props, you do so at your own risk. We are not responsible for the setup, safety, or function of personal equipment.

7. Privacy, Security & Photo Use

Selfie Cove is a fully private studio, and we respect the confidentiality of your creative work. We do not record or photograph your private session unless previously arranged.

For safety and security purposes, the studio may be equipped with motion-activated cameras in general-use areas. These are in place to help monitor the space when accessed privately, including by members or any guests using a keypad or unstaffed entry. Cameras are never placed in restrooms or designated changing areas.

During studio-hosted events, workshops, or mini sessions, Selfie Cove may capture behind-the-scenes (BTS) photos or video content for promotional purposes. This may include guests, setups, or moments from the event. By participating, you acknowledge and agree that such media may be used by Selfie Cove for marketing and promotional purposes.

If a minor is present, a parent or legal guardian must approve any BTS media use involving them.

If you do not wish to be included in any BTS coverage, please notify us in writing prior to your session or event — we will fully respect your preference.

By booking a session, you also grant Selfie Cove a non-exclusive right to reshare any content you publicly tag us in, such as social media posts or testimonials.

8. Video or Podcasting Sessions

If you’ve booked a video recording session (i.e., YouTube interviews, workouts, podcasting, etc.), you’ll have access to our wireless microphones, a teleprompter, and basic acoustic panels designed to enhance sound quality. This equipment is provided for your use during the reserved time. Please handle all devices with care and return them to their original setup before leaving. If you require orientation or assistance with setup, please let us know in advance so we can arrange it as an add-on service if available.  You can request personalized help via email hello@selfiecove.com.

9. Liability Waiver

By using the Selfie Cove studio space, you agree to do so at your own risk. Selfie Cove, its owners, team members, and affiliates shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, or damage occurring during your visit. You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of any guests or children you bring.

This includes:

  • Injuries related to misuse of props, furniture, or personal gear
  • Lost or damaged personal belongings
  • Any third-party service or photographer you invite into the space

If we must cancel due to a studio issue or emergency, our liability is limited to refunding your booking fee only.

10. Special Circumstances and Additional Agreements

In certain cases, you may be asked to complete an additional form or agreement before using the studio. This applies especially to:

  • Walk-in or cash bookings where no digital record exists
  • Minors under 18 years old (a parent or legal guardian must sign a waiver or book on their behalf)
  • Special events, workshops, or third-party bookings involving additional guests, vendors, or services

These additional forms help us ensure that all users are aware of their responsibilities and that safety, cleanliness, and privacy standards are maintained. Refusal to complete required waivers may result in denial of access or cancellation of booking without refund.

11. Agreement and Final Acknowledgement

By booking with Selfie Cove, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to all studio terms, waivers, conditions, and policies. These rules are designed not to limit creativity, but to support a clean, safe, and professional space for all.

By booking, I confirm that I am 18 years or older, or I am booking on behalf of a minor and accept full legal responsibility for them during the session.
